Refuge House

The mission of Refuge House is to provide direct services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, and to their children and families, as well as to eliminate such violence through community education and public advocacy.

Provides assistance to survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault in the form of food, housing, and other forms of support. Offers up to 40 days of emergency stay. There is also a two-year transitional housing program for victims. Offers 6-8 sessions of counseling as part of their counseling services.

Volunteer Opportunities:

Volunteer opportunities involve community education and office organization, as well as direct services with clients. While this latter, direct service, requires 60 hours of training and certification through a test, there no requirements for other kinds of indirect work.
